Case Study: Bertelsmann Music Group (BMG)

BMG is the global music division of Bertelsmann AG, one of the world's leading media companies. BMG management approached Objectlab about representing BMG in the areas of technical analysis and leadership in the early stages of a technology joint venture to develop a secure digital music delivery system. Objectlab worked closely with BMG's business and technology management teams analyzing and documenting business and technical requirements, conducting due diligence on proposed software components and leading architecture and design efforts on system components that BMG was responsible for delivering. Objectlab uncovered and alerted BMG to deficiencies in some of the core technology components that had been proposed for the solution and suggested an alternative approach for the effort. BMG agreed with our assessment, adjusted their strategy and as a result realized significant savings in software licensing fees, while also meeting the requirements of the joint venture that they were obligated to satisfy.
